About this place
One detail diners remember about the pork okonomiyaki is the tender texture of its finely chopped cabbage. Tamon’s menu ranges from the classic pork version to okonomiyaki with beef tendon, mentaiko or seafood. You can keep it simple with pork or choose a filling with beef tendon, depending on what you fancy.
The negiyaki, a savoury pancake with spring onion, comes with beef tendon, pork, prawn or mentaiko. One group of three women shared beef tendon and spring onion negiyaki, pork okonomiyaki and a large mixed yakisoba. It’s an example of a meal built around several different flour-based dishes. The yakisoba is available with pork, squid, prawn or beef tendon, and can be ordered in a large serving. One diner also enjoyed the modern-yaki, making it an option when you want both okonomiyaki and yakisoba.
Pair a bottle or glass of draft beer with the meal, or add a teppan-grilled dish such as salted grilled squid or cheese tonpei. Tamon serves lunch and dinner and is closed on Wednesdays and Thursdays. Payment is cash only, so come prepared.
